The Right Way to do a Coconut Oil Cellulite Treatment
Coconut Oil + Dry Brush Method.
To do the treatment, you will essentially combine one item you may already use — a dry brush — with the topical use of coconut oil. I’ve seen this method on Pinterest and reviewed on other blogs before, and the subjects reported impressive outcomes. Their cellulite was reduced in 30 days. Dry brushing is already a popular and well-known method for reducing the appearance of cellulite, but the idea here is to combine it with skin-nourishing coconut oil.
Choose a brush that is natural and vegetable based like this one, as these are superior to synthetic brushes. And choose a coconut oil that is virgin (unrefined), like this one from Nutiva, which is my personal favorite. Keep the brush dry; you just want to apply coconut oil to the skin first. Massage the coconut oil into the skin with the brush, stroking upwards on the thighs, for 10 minutes a day. This will get the lymphatic system moving, removing toxins, and improve blood flow in the area, while the coconut oil moisturizes and nourishes the area. If this works as well for you as it has for others, I’d love to see your comments about your results!

Coconut Oil Coffee Scrub
Another way to massage the skin that could work like dry brushing is with a scrub. A coconut oil, sugar and coffee scrub is just the ticket. This is an invigorating, exfoliating scrub that is reported to improve cellulite after a few weeks of use. Caffeine is a popular ingredient in skin care products because it tightens skin, so
that’s what the coffee is for. And coconut oil is a great moisturizer that’s easily absorbed by the skin. So by combining them into a sugar scrub, you’ll get all those benefits plus the massaging action which will polish your skin and get the flow of blood and lymph fluid going just like the above method.
- 1 part virgin coconut oil, melted
- 1 part sugar
- 1.5 parts coffee grounds
Combine these ingredients into a nice paste and massage into the area a few times per week. You can store it in any container, but you may need to heat the closed container under the faucet to melt up the oil again for future uses.
Additional tips for managing cellulite
- Omega-3s. The average American doesn’t get enough omega-3s, so this can be a good idea whether it helps your cellulite or not. Omega-3s are great for the skin and your overall health. By getting your fat consumption into balance, you can potentially solve problems like cellulite. In my case, I tend to take this EPA formula, which contains the correct balance of Omega-3s to the other fatty acids.
- Myofascial massage (myofascial release). This massage technique is reputed to smooth out the tissue where cellulite forms.
- Squats. A great lower body workout will tone the area and eventually help burn fat as the muscle growth increases your metabolism and fat burn. Here’s one of my favorite lower body workouts.
These coconut oil cellulite treatments and tips are said to improve the appearance of skin within 30 days.
